Since I can't post it on Facebook because I'm friends with 2 coworkers, I'm posting it here. I got a job offer from Cleveland Clinic, they want me to start on December 20th. They're finalizing a salary for me, but even the bottom offer would be an increase for me. More exact details to emerge next week, but since I already have 1 offer letter from Sodexho to move me to Akron nonetheless I'll be turning in a 2 week notice on Monday. Excited!Looking to move on December 10th.

and apparently my dog does not like it when I leave him behind on vacation, and showed his dismay by pissing on my bed. I am updating while listening to the dryer hum.
Orlando was great--I realize that I have not updated in awhile, because mostly it seems like everyone has lost interest in LJ and I'm not the only one!
I'm trying to think of what my last entry was about, and to be honest I'm too lazy to just click the link to find out--but I think I'll try to recap from here
--been seeing a dude from Ohio, went to Orlando with him for a black tie work dinner thing, and then we went to Disney world for a few days since I had never been there.
Disney world was fun, pics to come on face book, but I can see how it's a moneymaker. $6 for a bottle of Dasani water. Jim had to contain me from throwing a hissy right there like a 4 year old. We had a few terrible meals at Magic Kingdom, but we did eat at a new place called T-Rex in downtown Disney that was just delicious. I had mahi-mahi tacos that were pretty killer and Jim had a rack of ribs that looked like they may have very well come from a woolly mammoth. Pretty proud of myself, slathered on the sunblock well enough that I did not burn at all, which is impressive for someone with my skin type (translucent).

I had a small taste of what Corrie went through a couple of weeks ago with her dog. Thursday night we had to take Wikkit to the ER vet at midnight-ish.
I had gone to bed at 1030, and he was his normal bite-y self, nothing out of the ordinary. About 1115ish, Chris woke me up and said something what wrong with Wikkit, he threw up in the living room and had a huge bump on his snout. I batted him off thinking he was messing with me, but then looked at the dog and the right side of his nose looked like a chipmunk cheek full of nuts and what is normally a white nose is now blood red, and he was lethargic. We went downstairs to investigate if there was a bug around, and in the meantime he had become listless and the swelling had gotten worse...a lot worse. Chris said he had given him some water in between the time he puked, and the time he woke me up...and then Wikkit threw up in the entryway and became even more limp, so we called the vet, who's messaging service directed up the all night ER vet.
Took him to VRCC, and upon exam the ER vet said he had been bitten by something and was having a severe allergic reaction, and they were going to keep him overnight--they had to put in an IV since he couldn't keep anything down.
Went home, I had to work on Friday so Chris took the day off-Chris picked him up at 7 am and brought him home, but the swelling had started to come back and luckily our regular vet called to check on him and told Chris to bring him there, so Wikkit went to the regular vet at 9 am Friday morning, they had to put an IV back in and monitor him. Luckily our regular vet knows him and she said she thought he had been bitten by a spider, so now we are going to clean off the porch and sort through some things out there so there won't be any lurking insects. We got him back at 6 last night with prescriptions for steroids, and instructions to give him Benadryl as well. He's been really sleepy, but seems to be getting back to normal--he did just try to jump in my lap.
I don't think I've been that stressed out about another living thing in a long time. It really scared me, needless to say I didn't sleep that great the rest of Thursday night, and was stressed at work Friday. Luckily it seems the meds are working, since his snout has returned to normal size and he's slowly acting more like his annoying puppy self.

nothing new to report here as of late---everything is still status quo. I work, come home, walk the dog, and exercise at night M-F...weekends are being spent doing house chores/going through closets/working.
I did get a fabulous pair of gunmetal grey pumps for the Austin wedding in December, Dillards is having a smokin' sale.

nothing much for me to report, a mundane weekend at best. we saw The Watchmen yesterday(but we had already seen it on Tuesday), and then had dinner out, which is a rarity for us now since I have to be super careful about what could be in my food.
I went to Sunflower Market this morning, which I've grown to be quite fond of..it's like a really fantastic organic store that's inexpensive and has a lot of gluten-free foods. Since I've been off gluten I've lost 17 lbs. I don't know if it's all diet though..Ive been going up and down 3 flights of stairs 7-8 times a day, and going on a 30 minute to hour walk daily with the dog.
I picked up a corned beef and cabbage to make for St. Patrick's Day only to realize I'm on a liquid diet today and tomorrow in prep for my colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon. I made it nonetheless and that's what Chris had for dinner. I saved some for Tuesday when I can eat solids again.
I didn't end up getting my teeth, my dentist called a few hours before my appt with some kind of emergency, so I'm scheduled on March 30...
This bowel prep shit should be illegal.
